Geekdom Madness: The Final Frontier Victor

That was a landslide!

The victor for the third round is:

Mr. Spock
"Fascinating"
Spock received 76% of the vote (10 votes) while Worf only received 23% (3 votes).

The number of votes in general is down, but this is the most one-sided match we've had so far. Let's see how it goes down the road.

Here's the breakdown. Check back tomorrow!

You know the drill

Announcing May the 4th: Spin-Offs and Parodies

(Originally Written for Jedi News)

When Disney bought Lucasfilm back in late 2012 (has it really been almost a year and a half?), they announced that they were planning on releasing one Star Wars film per year. That means that in addition to the traditionally numbered Episodes, there would be a spate of character-centric spin-off films.

The reaction was…mixed at best. Many felt that this would create oversaturation for the franchise. Others felt that it would seriously dilute the mythos and take away from the story of the Saga proper. Even those who would like to see where they go with this are weary of how it’s handled.

While I understand and even agree with some of these attitudes, everyone is talking like this is the first time a Star Wars spinoff film was even a thought. How quickly we forget.

Which is why I am returning to a weekly format for one month only, in order to bring you a continuation of my Saga reviews from last May. Announcing: May the 4th Episode II – Spin-Offs and Parodies.

Nilbog Catches Up on Shows

TV shows used to be a big part of my life. In the last decade or so, this has slipped somewhat, but now with my own place I'm going to have a chance to periodically check out and/or rediscover shows I've been meaning to watch for a while. Armed with my wife's Amazon Prime Instant Video, and my Sister-in-Law's Netflix, the time has come.

And I'm going to share it with you.

Geekdom Madness: The Battle for Middle-Earth Victor

Sorry about the mess with the polls, guys. I'll be more on that in the future.

The victor of the second round is:

Gandalf the Grey
"Not even the very wise can see all ends"
When the results from the duplicate poll are factored in, Gandalf received 65% of the vote (11 votes), and Gollum received 35% (6 votes)

While the breakdown was similar to last time, there were a few more votes. Let's hope the number only increases as we go on.

Here's the breakdown. Check back tomorrow!

Geekdom Madness: Episode I Victor

Turnout wasn't quite what I had hoped, but it was still enough to make it interesting.

The victor of the first round is:

Jar Jar Binks
"Mesa accept this with muy muy humility!"
Jar Jar received 63% of the vote (7 votes) while Yoda received 36% (4 votes).

Here's how the board looks now. Tune in tomorrow for next week's exciting match-up:

Insect Politics

(Originally Written to Jedi News)

No, this article is not about the deleted Separatist Kangaroo Court scene, though I will say that if George ever does a Special Edition of Attack of the Clones, I’d love to see it put back in, in one form or another.

Clone Wars Season 6: Yoda Arc

I was under the impression Syfo-Dias died before that.

Spoilers ahead.
