MM: Pokémon Y Version Review

Well, I did not expect to be able to write this so soon, but I was luckily somehow able to get my hands on Pokémon Y version recently. I've played through the first seven gyms and most of the main story, so I'd like to give you my thoughts.

Coming Soon (tm)

So, some of you may have noticed that my article isn't up yet.

That's because things got crazy at work and I barely handed it in by deadline, and things are even crazier at Jedi News and my editor didn't have time.

So the article is set to go up next week, and my Editor is taking some time off and told me I earned it too.

So while I'll be preparing a bit, no new Star Wars articles after the next one until my editor returns.

That's not to say that there won't be updates here. We have the October Anniversaries coming up, and some Monday Mons-Day and WoW-Wednesday stuff I've been meaning to do for a while.

It'll take me a little bit longer to get used to my new schedule and find time to write all this stuff, but I swear to any and all deities that may or may not exists that they WILL be here and in a TIMELY FASHION!

For real this time!

Site Update

Okay, so here's the scoop.

On the last week of April, I got hit with a stomach bug that took me out of commission, hence the only thing I was able to get out that week was the May the 4th article on New Hope, and I barely got that out. Since then, I've been too busy to do much other than the May the 4th reviews. So this is what's happening now.

This week, I'll post the May the 4th of Return fo the Jedi, plus an Anniversary Review of some more personal anecdotes regarding that film either tomorrow or Wednesday.

Also this week, I'll be posting the April and May Anniversaries.

The Skylanders thing I promised...while I still plan to do that, it won't start for another few months, not until more information comes out on Series 3 and what I can expect my lineup to be.

On the other hand, I should be posting more WoW Wednesday material by sometime in June. June is also Jar Jar June, so you can expect something special in that regard. June is also my vacation month from work, so posts may become more timely and numerous until after the 4th of July.

I thank all of my readers for being patient with me.

MM2: The Magic Has Been Restored

So here is the reason that my Skylander's collection has stalled.

For the first time in 15 years, I've been collecting Magic cards.

MM 1: Remember Skylanders?

Ahh, yes. Skylanders. Haven't talked about them much in the last few months, have I? Well, that's mainly because there's been a small hiatus on collecting them until very recently.

A Promise of Things to Come.

With all the Star Wars news and real life getting in the way, I've been neglecting my other semi-regular columns here. Well, I've got a ton of time this weekend to line up new posts for the coming week. In addition to the standard Jedi News Star Wars column, I WILL have a new Monday Mons-Day, a new WoW Wednesday, AND the March Anniversary post all lined up to post at the appropriate times.

See you then!

Time Is Nigh, I Must Fly...

So there's this video game called Skyrim that the world has been going completely nuts over the last few years. I'm going to share with you my relationship with it. I know it's not exactly topical, but that's because I'm not the one to jump on a bandwagon for the sake of it. In fact, hype aversion was one of the key sources, but I'm getting ahead of myself here.

MM: Skylanders update/Clone Wars update

Okay, so a couple of things.

First, being Monday I'm doing a pseudo-Mons-Day post regarding my Skylanders grades. I've recently decided to retire the O.W.L. system of grading the 3DS version and will post some revised stats alongside the console stats (which I'm researching on places like IGN and DarkSpyro). I'll also be taking some pictures to go along with these figurine reviews, so I should have the first batch up by...next week?

Secondly, a Clone Wars update. So far, StarWars.com has failed to post the full episode of the returning season that aired on Saturday, so my review of that may take a little longer. Hopefully not too long, though. From my understanding, this is either the 100th episode or the 100th episode is nigh, so I'll have more details on that front soon*

The Twelve Days of Listmas Day 4: Pokémon!

Interestingly, this coincides with Monday Mons-Day. Today's relatively short Listmas day is all about Pokémon! Gotta list 'em all!

MM: Skylanders Console Thoughts

So after getting into the swing of the console version of Skylanders Giants, I decided that while my main figure rankings will still apply solely to the 3DS version(s), I will share with any other Portal Masters my thoughts on upgrade paths. What follows are the paths I chose so far and why, as well as a promise that all future Skylanders rankings will include these little blurbs. Note that this isn't a full list of figures I have because I haven't been able to upgrade them all yet, but I can give you a decent list.

MM: Skylanders Grades Issue 3

Okeedoke, here are four more Skylanders to review. Yes, I did in fact get six, but two of them work exclusively with Skylanders Giants and since I only have Spyro's Adventure for the 3DS, we'll have to wait.

Once more, we're using Harry Potter O.W.L. grades here. Refer to my older posts to get what the letters mean.

MM: Skylanders Giants First Impression

Well, I did not expect to get this one, but...Skylanders Giants!

MM: You know what? Weekly is just bad for me.

Especially with Clone Wars back, it's just not feasible to have either Monday Mons-Day OR WoW Wednesday on a set schedule. I run out things to talk about, time to do multiple posts, etc.

I had started them to give me an excuse to update weekly, but due to forces beyond my control the schedule slips anyway. And I'm left with another Monday with nothing to talk about from any collecting standpoint.

Meanwhile, I have more to talk about re: WoW, except my Wednesdays are even more shot.

So MM and WW are still a thing, but will only appear on Mondays and Wednesdays when I actually have something to say.

And with that, I think Clone Wars may have gone up.

MM: Wait A Little Longer

It's October! Do you know what that means?

Pokémon Black & White 2 and Skylanders Giants are out this month!

And if I can scrape together funds to buy anything before the holidays, it'll be Mists of Pandaria.

So...it'll be a while before those reviews if at all.

And I have nothing else Monday Mons-Day related to talk about this week.

I apologize for the inconvenience.

MM: A New Reason To Collect

Today's post will be short. More on the Action Figure front, though sort of rolled in with a general life thing.

I got a Smartphone. I've never wanted a Smartphone, but I had to get one because A) My well-loved Moterolla Razor is starting to crap the bed, and B) I finally got onto a cell plan with my wife, and my choices for new phones were either Smartphones or flip phones that were far worse than my Razor.

So I bit the bullet, and honestly I don't hate it. You'll probably be seeing more pictures up here for one thing (not today, though).

I've found another use for my Star Wars figures in the "Select Contact Icon" feature. 90% of you probably have been aware of this for years, but you can match a picture on your phone to a contact on your phone so that the picture comes up when calling or called.

Naturally, the first thing I did was take tasteful portraits of all the Star Wars figures I had on hand, and match them the best I could.

Now the problem has become this: I don't have certain characters that would fit one of my contacts perfectly, and some of the figures I have taken pics of don't quite fit anyone.

So, during the holiday season, I'm going to have to step up my collecting (dares notwithstanding; I have the feeling I could only do that once).

MM: Now THIS is Podracing!

Shana Tovah, readers! It's Rosh Hashannah and I'm surprised I have time to put this quick post out.

I have to tell you a little story about Podracing.

MM: Genwonners

I've talked so many times about Star Wars Hateboys, but I wanted to talk a little bit today on a very similar creature known in Poké-fan circles as "Genwonners".

And I used to be one.

MM: Happy Labor Day

It's Labor Day! So give your Pokémon the rest they deserve!

MM: Dream Eaters

So as I finally put KH3D down for a while, I wanted to briefly talk more about the Dream Eater system.

MM: Skylanders Grades Round 2 + Vintage Jar Jar

I've finally got around to grading my newest batch of Skylanders. However, before I give you those grades I've been promising for nearly a month, I want to talk a little bit about the Vintage Jar Jar Binks.
