GM16 - TRG: Poachers/Thrillseekers Victors

So close yet so far....

The Victors for the fourth and final round of The Real Game are...

Captain Jack Sparrow
"You will always remember this as the day you almost caught...Captain Jack Sparrow!"

and...

Rose Tyler
"So history’s happening and we’re stuck here."

Match 1 was no contest. Captain Jack had all the votes until literally the last second, but he still got 8 votes out of 11 total (72%). Match 2 was a lot more even, with Rose squeaking by with a single vote, ending with 5 out of 9 (55%).

Here's the breakdown. The Quarter-Final starts tomorrow!

Bloody pirates.

GM16 - TRG: Unbreakable/House of M Victors

Talk about a flip-flop.

"Super Effective!"

and...
Maleficent
"You poor simple fools! Thinking you could defeat me...ME! The mistress of all evil!"

These two had an early lead before their opponents overtook them. However, last-minute, Mewtwo gathered a total of 5 votes out of 8 (62%) and Maleficent gathered 4 votes out of 7 (57%)

Here's the breakdown. Check back tomorrow!

We were THIS CLOSE to Kenny and Marv.

Top Ten Things I Love About Episodes I-III

Now, at this point, I’ve more or less eschewed the notion of May the 4th, or Revenge of the 5th/6th (whichever pun is better), and decided that May is Star Wars Month. George Lucas was born in May, and all of his Star Wars films (including Empire and Jedi) came out in May. That being said, when the Star Wars Prequel AppreciationSociety dubbed this Friday “Prequel Appreciation Day” (traditionally May 19th, the release date of Phantom and Sith, but moved a day over so people can celebrate on a Friday) and called out to friendly bloggers to share the love by posting their Top Ten favorite things about the films, well I felt inspired to write about Star Wars for the first time in many months. Now it goes without saying, I will be repeating myself here, and these are going to be mostly subjective to my experience. But as I said in my previous post those many weeks back, we need positivity now more than ever.

GM16 - TRG: We All Wear Masks/Sabotage Victors

No contest.

The Victors for the second round of The Real Game are...

The Green Goblin
"This is why only fools are heroes - Because you never know when some lunatic will come along with a sadistic choice!"

and...

The Roadrunner
"BEEP BEEP *zip-tang!*"

While Match 1 had more overall votes than Match 2, both our Victors scored all but one, with Gobby winning 6 votes out of 7 (85%) and Roadrunner winning 4 votes out of 5 (80%).

Here's the breakdown. Check back tomorrow!

We're well over halfway through.

GM16 - TRG: Return of Wizard's Duel/Theory or Practice Victors

That was a fast turnaround.

The Victors for the first round of The Real Game are...

Yoda
"Much to learn, you still have."

and...

The Riddler
"Riddle me this: We're five little items of an everyday sort; You'll find us all in A Tennis Court."

Out of 9 votes total each match, both Yoda and Riddler scored 5 votes (55%). Interestingly, it was Snape and Michelangelo that had early leads, but our Victors surpassed at the last minute by one vote.

Here's the breakdown. Check back tomorrow!

Would it ruin the suspense if I told them that they get a new riddle each time Riddler wins?

Welcome to Geekdom Madness 2016: The Real Game. Our first matches: Slimy Mudholes and Booksmarts vs Streetsmarts.

Real Game Delay

Just a quick announcement that the next round of Geekdom Madness will be delayed for several hours today, as the time I had scheduled to finish setting it up turned out to be needed elsewhere. It should be available by late afternoon/early evening at the latest. Thank you for your patience.
