East Meets West

(Originally Written for Jedi News)

My constant line throughout this column is that, where it matters, I-III is exactly the same as IV-VI. It’s on this point that I’ve been most sharply criticized. I still stand by what I said when it comes to quality and style of filmmaking, dialogue, and performance.

However, there is a very subtle difference in elemental composition.

WW: Pandaria Push

So, WoW has Triceretopses now.

So I have a new reason to really push Wethrilli leveling to 90. Feyd too, since the patches seem to be coming quickly and I want to be ready to fight Garrosh when the time comes - while Weth is better for raids, Feyd is Horde. It should be him that dethrones the douche if possible.

To that end, I've been questing in Pandaria, and it's quickly becoming my favorite WoW expansion. I just love the Pandaren, their culture, their atmosphere. I'm having the most fun I've ever had at high levels.

That's why I love WoW continuously, even though it's overstayed its welcome for a lot of players. It always has that sense of fun and play, and never allows itself to take itself too seriously, regardless of what the elitist jerks say.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some questing to do.

Missed Anniversary: The Beatles on Ed Sullivan

I just wanted to give a shout out to an anniversary I missed last month, because I usually focus on movies and, once in a while, TV shows and video games. However, back in February was a milestone of a different sort: the 50th anniversary of the first US appearence of The Beatles.

Watching that old Ed Sullivan show really puts things in perspective. It's very much like modern boy bands - because that's exactly what the Beatles were, at first. What seperated them, aside from proficiency with their instruments of course, was how they would spend the rest of the decade totally revolutionizing the way music is written, recorded, and listened to.

But even then, you could see the talent and charm that would make them hands down the biggest musical act of all time, as well as one of my personal favorite bands. If only they hadn't burned out so quickly...

MM2: The Magic Has Been Restored

So here is the reason that my Skylander's collection has stalled.

For the first time in 15 years, I've been collecting Magic cards.

MM 1: Remember Skylanders?

Ahh, yes. Skylanders. Haven't talked about them much in the last few months, have I? Well, that's mainly because there's been a small hiatus on collecting them until very recently.

Search Your Feelings

(Originally written for Jedi News)

I’ve been bullied most of my life.

A Promise of Things to Come.

With all the Star Wars news and real life getting in the way, I've been neglecting my other semi-regular columns here. Well, I've got a ton of time this weekend to line up new posts for the coming week. In addition to the standard Jedi News Star Wars column, I WILL have a new Monday Mons-Day, a new WoW Wednesday, AND the March Anniversary post all lined up to post at the appropriate times.

See you then!

My Top 11 Favorite Star Wars Characters of All Time (Part 2)

(Originally written for Jedi News)

Sorry to keep you guys waiting for a week, though I guess technically you could have scoured my blog for spoilers...

Still, before we move on, I wanted to say that as much as the activism stuff is important to me, especially when the negative voices might have a small shot at influencing the future of the Saga, this whole thing really goes back to me just absolutely loving Star Wars and everything about it (well, almost everything, but that’s another article entirely). That’s why I love it when I can just take a step back and do something as monumentally geeky as just talk about who my favorite characters are. I also know that my list is very different from a lot of peoples, but that’s okay too. In fact, I like it that way.

Well, I’ve stalled long enough. Now, the conclusion to…My Top 11 Favorite Star Wars Characters OF ALL TIME….PART DEUX!!!

R.I.P. Clone Wars

Well, it's official. The Clone Wars have been cancelled.

This has stirred up a lot of feelings for me, most of which I will dedicate in a Jedi News article for next week (I already sent in part 2 of the Fave Character article for this week), but those feelings are more broad around the saga.

More to the point of Clone Wars, I am glad that if it had to end, it went out on the note it did. It was a perfectly doen finale, and it's really the timing of it all that gets me twisted up in knots. Had the show ended like this under Lucasfilm's reign with everything else still on track, I'd have been disappointed, but I would have respected the Maker's decision and life would have gone on.

As it is, however, this smells stinkowith.

Stay tuned for next week's dissertation.

My Top 11 Favorite Star Wars Characters of All Time (Part 1)

(Originally written for Jedi News, which got some really great pictures, especially for #8. I, however, am using different pictures)

Visitors to my website will remember I did a theme of lists during the holidays, where I revealed among MANY other things my Top 11 Favorite Star Wars Characters (Why Top 11? Because it allows one honorable mention to be tacked onto a normal 10 list). However, I just offered the lists then, no real explanation of why. And my loyal readers at Jedi News (I’m assuming there’s at least one or two) haven’t heard my order either, though I’ve mentioned a few numbers now and again.

Regarding Clone Wars

(Originally Written for Jedi News with sadly more typos than I'd have liked.)

I really like the Clone Wars.
