Clone Wars Episode 5.17: Sabotage

That business on Cato Nemoidia doesn't...doesn't count.

Spoilers ahead.

Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano are called back from the front lines in order to investigate a bombing at the Jedi Temple.

Well, color me intrigued. After a ripoff...err...I mean...homage to the opening of Revenge of the Sith, we actually get a pretty decent mystery story, and despite the fact that it was "solved" at the end, there's definitely more here than meets the eye.

I'm getting more and more annoyed by the portrayal of Anakin on this series. He sounds nothing like himself, in cadence or in personality. A little of him shines through in the yelling scenes, but those are fewer and farther between (which, in terms of story, is a good thing).I'm also annoyed/suspicious of the David Caruso driod, but maybe that's because the only place David Caruso didn't annoy me was in Hudson Hawk. In any case, the sunglasses-quip-Who meme is getting ever so slightly old. So slightly.

What I do continue to love is Ahsoka. She's really grown since the tagalong audience surrogate from the pilot movie. She's Robin the Boy Wonder handled correctly, and she's quickly moving up my favorite characters list. I also did love the cameo by Cin Drallig, who we really should be seeing more of. Finally, I love the fact that it's introducing more and more distrust of the Jedi that will no doubt contribute to their downfall.

Nothing else I can say except I can't wait for next week.

  1. I like how Anakin is portrayed in the series. But well, that's your opinion.

    1. What bothers me is that not only does Lanter sound nothing like Christensen, it almost seems as he's trying to be as un-Christensen as possible.

Since I love Christensen as Anakin, you can understand why I feel this way.
