We All Wear Masks....

So for years, I've been dying to dress up as my all-time favorite comic-book character, but nobody sold ready-made costumes and it would be so time-intensive that it was hardly worth it for several years.

Well this year I finally did it. I was the Green Goblin last night for Halloween.

With my wife's help, I designed and constructed the hat out of bolt fabric. The ears are Woochie prosthetics painted with green latex and hot-glued to the hat (incidentally, the latex also makes up the majority of the face-paint, and reacts awesomely to blacklight)

My wife also helped sew the tunic, which is just a purple t-shirt with the sleeves cut off and one of them sewn to the neck.

The shorts are from Party City, as is the green morph suit I'm wearing underneath it all. The boots are rain boots spray-painted purple (and they were cracking by the end of the night). The gloves are just plain dishwashing gloves that happened to be purple.

The Bag of Tricks is just a tote, but the ingenious thing is inside: Tiny jack-o-lantern candy pails with the handles removed and electric tea-lights hot-glued in to make awesome Pumpkin Bombs.

Yes, the creme makeup I used around my eyes stained them a little bit, and I'll be picking latex out of my hairline for weeks, and for all our driving around searching for something to do we still really only went ot see the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular at the zoo...but damn was it worth it.

And now that the hard part is over, I have a Green Goblin outfit I can use and reuse for as long as it'll fit me.

We're gonna have a HELL of a time!

I didn't have anything planned this year, so I just threw on some stuff I had from previous years and was Captain Hook. 'twas fun.

    1. Only one, and it went more like "I pretend to be beaten up while Spider-Kid stands frozen in fear while his mom glares at me."

    1. You'll see. And I'll make sure to get good pics this year - that's why I never uploaded my Shredder from last year.
